Base speaker is not happy (nor am I)

Good day. I have a 2018 Interstate. It had an issue with noise like a fireplace or similar crackling under the seat behind the galley when I picked it up. The repair tech said... 'that is the base speaker, I will fix it." He did something, but a week later now it hums and crackles. Is there a way to stop the noise? Turning off the radio has no effect. It is keeping me awake at night unless the a/c drowns it out. I suppose I can cut the battery switch, but that isn't practical at night when it is hot.

I assume by "base speaker" he means subwoofer. Obviously something is wrong with either the wiring leading to it or the subwoofer itself. Until they can properly diagnose and repair it, just disconnect the wires that power it. You'll have to find where they've mounted it in your model (follow the noise, LOL) and there should be 2 wires attached to it with screw terminals or spring-actuated clamp terminals. Be sure to turn the radio OFF before you disconnect the wires, just to avoid a nasty surprise. Subwoofers can pull a decent amount of power.....
