I will be attempting to tow her from the Grand Canyon North Rim to near Albuquerque.

The roof collapsed due to 5’ of snow/ice. Two huge tears in the roof.

Interesting. Especially this time of year...it's +90-degrees just about everywhere about now!

Seems like there is more than just ice/snow load that caused this! We get that much snow on ours every winter...never a problem. Did it slide off a tree or roof and crush it? Regardless, looks like a big project to fix! If it's not "already yours" I'd look for a different trailer...

The pic link is below. We haven't determined how to post pics here. Apparently, the site doesn't want the image on their server.

The snow melted, turned to ice, followed by more snow build up. The tears are on the roof near the door. Will evaluate her for rebuild or salvage when we get her home.

A deal I couldn't refuse. Has to be gone before the first snows.

I'm sure we'll need help along the way.

I don’t think that is a 64’ the windows Are 70s style Some good parts I bet.

The frame is stamped "Mfd. by Airstream 1-70." The owner and his workers insist it is a 1964. I saw the owner briefly as I was leaving to return home - What do I know - I wasn't going to argue with him. Thanks for verifying the date.

the Airstream dealer and best local trailer parts store have no record of bearings or brake parts this far back. [The local Airstream dealer won't work on one this old.] The nearest auto parts store will be an hour away.

Don't know if the brake/turn/running lights will work - I assume the wires for them go down the center of the ceiling. The inner roof covers the wiring.

My Arizona DMV appointment for the drive out permit is the first week of September. It's 2 hours away from the trailer site.

I may wrap it with a tow strap, place wooden vertical struts inside and bolt horizontal struts across the gash.

Thanks for the pic assistance Shari. However, my nephew's pics are on his google drive and they are HEIC format. You can't just drag and drop them to the desktop. JPGs on my desktop are no problem.

The trailer should look good with my 1970 Honda Trail 90(s). Yes - senior '70.

The photos are of a 1970 Airstream. Definitely not a 1964. Totallly different shell shapes. The serial number confirms it is a 1970 31' Sovereign International built in Cerritos, California. The "1-70" confirms it was built in January 1970.

The year of the trailer has been determined, but from the pictures it looks like it's only value would be as scrap. The cost of making the trailer functional would far exceed any possible value for a 70 31 footer.

The door seems straight. I often recycle light industrial equipment [Recycled Sales on Ebay]. IF I can get this back to New Mexico, piecing it out is certainly a possibility. The ends look okay. I won't know how many ribs/bows are bent or broken until I get her here.

This housed staff intermittently for more than a decade with no towing.

Anybody know if electric brakes were standard on the 1970 Sovereign?
