Most beautiful Illinois campground

In your opinion, what is the most picturesque campground in all of Illinois, and feels free to narrow it down to a certain campsite.
Also feel free to add pictures. Just remember there are no wrong answers here, as it's all a matter of personal preference.

COE; Thomson Causway. Be aware, I've seen 4-5 ft of water on campground in spring/summer, and Mayflies in June/July

One could say that, I was in #62 PMN 2 weeks ago and also earlier this year. I/we have camped there since it was originally opened. I / we have camped in most areas; there are 4 loops: Potters North, South, River Birch and ??. There is also a large Picnic area.
This is the widest part of the Mississippi, 3 1/2 miles. Also noted for Magnificent Sun sets and big storms.
Drmox, weren't you going to be there this year ? Were you from this area?

Mike

I should qualify this to say that Illinois has a number of beautiful CG'S; this is just one of them. Each one is unique in their own way.
Note; I'm originally from Moline Il. moved to Iowa in the 60's.

We really enjoy Thomson also. The sites on the water are outstanding! If a storm comes in across Ol Miss they can also be horrible.

Last time we had site # 73 and really liked it. Great view and good shade all day.

This pic is site #67 at Thomson Causeway.

Two weeks ago we stopped at Rend Lake in southern IL and stayed at Gun Creek Campground. They also had some really nice spots on the water. The whole lake is surrounded by campgrounds. Great area. Can't wait to get back there.

Mike
I'm from the western suburbs of Chicago, as I live in the mean streets of Villa Park.
