'50? Cruiser "25" Serial# 6002
Found in abandoned salvage yard: 1950 Airstream Cruiser "25". SERIAL# 6002 Trailer has been used for storage for many years and is in poor condition.
The Good: Shell is restorable, both int. & ext.
Interesting Serial # 6002.
The Bad: Very little left of interior wood, floor is shot, Frame in poor condition, axle still there, but no brakes, bearings, hubs, or wheels. This trailer would be a project and would have to be trailered to new home. According to Vintageairstream archives, this would be the second Cruiser '25" produced. We stand to be corrected if wrong.
The contents of an old salvage yard had been donated to a local museum and this trailer was included. Every thing will be sent to the crusher, but would like to see it saved, if someone is interested.
Trailer located in extreme western Okla. panhandle. We do have pics.
I'm a volunteer for the museum, but can answer most of your questions.
Thanks, Cayoterun, Marvin Taylor

A picture IS worth a thousand words, if you can post some. The forum software seems to like small-size, lower-resolution pictures, you won't have to edit or resize them.
It's starting to look like I need to move, all the cool Airstream finds are thousands of miles away from here...

Don´t tell me...
Maybe we should take part in the next GreenCard Lottery
Would be great if someone from these forums could safe another Airstream from scrap metal...

I posted this at 3:30 am & must have pushed the wrong buttons in the personal profile. I'm in Guymon, Okla, not RI. E-mail direct for info & pics. Please bear with me as we are in a very rural farm/ranch area and our service is really slow, also, I'm a retired rancher and not very computer savvy, but all of us museum volunteers love the 'ol iron and want to rescue as much as possible. The selling price is determined by museum board based on "crusher price". I'm just trying to see if other "buffs" out there are interested. Phone calls are welcome, evenings is best.
The "Cimmaron Heritage Center" (museum) and trailer are located in Boise City, Okla. in extreme western ok panhandle.
Thanks for your patience,
Cayoterun, Marvin

Hello, All: "Scrappie, the junkyard fugitive" has a new home! The new owner is on this site, plans to restore her, but I'll let him keep the group posted on her progress. We all are happy she is getting rescued.
About us: We are retired farmers/ranchers, love old iron/aluminum, restored 9 classic cars, & 2 trailers. A '66 Scotty Sportsman & '47 Spartan Manor. We do volunteer work with Red Cross, FEMA, and Cimarron Heritage Center (museum), Boise City, Okla. Anyone passing thru this area, we give a personal invite to visit the museum and surrounding historical sites offered.
We want to thank everyone who has made inquiries and helped make this rescue possible.
God Bless and may our trails cross again.
Cayoterun, Marvin Taylor
Guymon, Okla.
Huumm, Now where is a big basket and shovel to get 'ol Scrappie ready for delivery!?

Scrappie has been in a barn for 11 years now, and I brought her south to Texas to try a restoration. I am still in the planning stages, and will hopefully start work soon. I’ll try to keep posting on any progress. I just found this thread looking for any info on these few wide body Limited Cruisers. I think Scrappie is a good name for her.
