'52 Cruiser

My partner and I recently found a '52 Cruiser that had been stored in a barn for some years. It is in mostly original condition, with the exception of the refrigerator and a missing shade for the gas lamp. It has some water damage and a few dents, but with a few repairs can be used as is. Of course, we want to restore it to its former glory! We haven't come across any other Cruisers, and would like to find other Cruiser owners for advice and resources. We have learned that the Cruiser was a pre-cursor of the Overlander, made in CA 1950-52 and then also in OH beginning in 1953. Ours is 24' and weighs about 3200#. We're currently looking at towing options and are considering a Buick Roadmaster/ Cadillac Fleetwood in the tradition the old V-8 tow cars. We'd love to meet other cruiser owners, so introduce yourself!

Hi Shari,
Thanks for the welcome. I've posted the only picture we have of the interior. I'll post more over the next year as we work on it. Great photos and documentation on your web page. If our restoration turns out half as nice as yours, I'll be happy!

Just Purchased 1952 Cruiser

Doug,
I trust you will get this post...although I see your last post on this forum was 2002.
I just found and purchased a 1952 24' Cruiser here in Southern California this week...sight unseen over the internet. I do have digitals that I will share with you if you care to see.
I would appreciate communicating with you on any research you have been able to dig up on this model.
It seems as though yours and now mine are the only two that appear on this forum. Please feel free to email me off the list if you want...my email is: jballa@rpgcommercial.com
Best,
Joe
