Argosy Restoration Reveal
Here's some photos of our restored 1974 24' twin bed Argosy.
i like the Argosy for the slim profile, panoramic windows, low weight and build quality.
It is a new old trailer with new running gear, systems, appliances, and cosmetics.
Love the panoramic windows. I decided to use black walnut for the dinette, fridge counter, and bath counter. The bath cabinets are spalted maple and the kitchen counter is a maple butcher block. Sinks are Elkay Lustertone and faucets are Kohler.
New electrical service from Progressive Dynamics. New plumbing and gas lines. The Air Command AC/heat pump is wonderful. A new suburban gas furnace was installed so the trailer has a choice of electric or gas heat. The water heater is also dual gas and electric.
Paint is Chevy Silver Ice Metallic. Awning was rebuilt with Zip Dee Mediterranean Blue Tweed fabric.
I have some baby moon hubcaps and the black trim molding to install on the exterior. We also still need to hang curtains. White linen is the plan.
It's put away in the barn. We had pans to take it to Arcadia Natl Park this September but it wasn't finished.
Scott Miller in Michigan did the work. Design and product selection by me.
We had it parked up by the house for a couple weeks and it got a lot of attention.
Overall, a fun project and a nice trailer.
PS, sorry about the couple of photos out of orientation. I kind of like them like that. Sometimes the project was a little crazy.
