2nd Flight of the Falcon

As some of you know my son (8) and I just acquired a '73 Sovereign and have been piecing her together over the last month. We christened her on a 2650 mile round trip to Michigan two weeks ago and camped more local this last weekend. we are converted I love being on the road to begin with, that with my love for camping makes for a great experience taking off weekends with my boy and spending time together out there. I thank you all (you know who you are) for your help and encouragement getting The Aluminum Falcon off the ground. I will be posting some more pictures in the next couple of days on this thread. Meanwhile...

Congrats on your new trailer! Camping in an Airstream is addictive! We started five years ago and haven't looked back.

Sounds great!

Glad you got the beast up and running and can now enjoy 'quality time' with the little one. I'm sure you will infect him with the same disease (aluminitis) that you now have. Welcome to the club!

Al,

It's amazing that more people have not figured out that camping with their family is a significant and life long bonding experience. There's just something about the whole effort involved that brings a new level of commitment, be it with your spouse, kid(s), friends or a close group.

Congratulations on getting your trailer out and using it. I still remember the fishing trips with my dad and every time I think back on those times I get a very warm feeling of being loved and just how much my dad was committed to ensuring that I felt as valued as the rest of the kids in the family. He made sure each of us had our trips with him and every one of us still feels the same way.

Take care,

Barry

Only the begining

We have only just begun. I have grown up sailing the great lakes on a 33' Pearson Vangaurd Sloop. So I can certianly relate to fond memories of growing up with closeness to nature and the elements. But with the boat harbored 18 hours away, we will get more quality time with the Aluminum Falcon. Again I want to thank everyone who took the time to help out a newbie and save me tremendous hard knocks on my first couple of outings...

THANKS!
