Exclamation Shower On/Off Valve

Hello All,
I have a water shut off problem!
Our 2018 28' Flying Cloud came out of winterized storage in May and off we went. Our second stop I discovered that I could not completely turn off the shower water. I also noticed that I could not get full hot water either. I pulled the handle and the Moen single stem /valve and went to a nearby ACE Hardware in Navarre FL. They had the exact stem/valve which did not really present much difficulty replacing. Disclaimer: I am not a plumber. The good news is I had full throttle hot water again. The bad news is I still have water dribble! I have to leave my grey tank valve open so I don't flood the place overnite not to mention the drip drip drip. Anyone dealt with this before? I took the valve back out and started again but for the life of me can't seem to get it adjusted to a full shutoff.

That's somewhat surprising since I have Moen faucets in my home. Those pull out push down Moen's are pretty positive and typically replacement of the cartridge takes care of Moen issues. Question I'm wondering is if there is something that is keeping faucet handle from being depressed fully in. Obviously if the travel is restricted that doesn't allow that knob to be pushed in enough, you can get a drip. I'd look at when the knob is fully pushed in, whether a piece of the surround is not allowing the knob to move in far enough. Could also be the assembly that the cartridge sits in was mounted too far back, again not allowing the handle enough travel room to totally close the valve when pushed in.

Thanks for the reply and input. This is not a push/pull cartridge. Its a single lever with the cartridge having slots for hot / cold input as the cartridge is rotated by the handle.

Install a Shower Arm Volume Control Valve until you can figure this out.

*Did you flush the water supply (hot and cold) before re-installing the new cartridge?

NC traveler,
Try removing the knob again and making sure the valve is in right side up. You can verify this by the embossed H/C located at the top of the valve. If its in there correctly, get a pair of pliers and rotate the center portion of that valve 180 degrees. then put the handle back on and try that. turn off the water when you rotate it or be ok with water coming out of the shower head as it rotates.
