Froze last night...thaw question

Brought the AS home for daughter to use as guest suite over holidays and had intended to head south before now. But plans change and while we're still home, temps dove to 13 last night. Hi today set for 26; 58 tomorrow.

Had minimal heat on inside just to keep AS from freezing. No water in tanks, so I hope I'm safe there; but I didn't winterize. Thought we were headed south. Propane tanks are (were) full, and furnace still kicks on; interior is cool, but not cold.

Went in AS to check on things and discovered "someone" had turned off water heater. Pretty sure that is frozen. Any reason why I shouldn't turn it back on and see if it will thaw on its own?

Thanks.

I don't think that should cause a problem as long as there is water in the tank. There is too much volume to freeze hard that fast but the lines may be frozen or slushed up.
In the unlikely event there is overpressure in the hot water tank the safety valve should relieve it.

Keep some heat in the trailer, open all the cabinet doors , open the faucets if they will with out being forced and hope all will be well when it thaws

Thanks Rick.
While it wasn't exactly winterized, the AS was drained. All but the WH tank. Kicked right on when I found it off, so just waiting to see how the thaw goes. Interior is still above freezing. Don't have a thermometer handy, but I'm guessing somewhere around 50-55 inside.

I'm ready to get these projects done and head south. You'd think West Texas wouldn't be quite so arctic.

Appreciate the help.
