Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing?

Is anyone going out this weekend with their Airstreams to watch the Persied Meteor Shower? Its peak observanse is from 1am to just before dawn and is to have the most viewable meteors per hour than any other this year. I'm thinking I may just call up a friend up north, out of the city lights, to see if I can drag my trailer up for the evening.

Anyone else have plans for this unique celestial event?

Perseids Meteor Shower. August 12, 13

The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak.
This year it should peak on the night of August 12 and the morning of the 13th.
You may see some meteors any time from July 23 - August 22, and I saw some this weekend.
The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Perseus.
The thin, crescent moon will be out of the way- -potentially a spectacular show.
For best viewing, look to the northeast after midnight.

We will be at the Abbotsford Air show so hoping for clear skies. Here on the Oregon coast we have had weeks of fog. Goin Camping, I see you are up here in Oregon, were having a Rally over in Sutherlin Oregon week after next 19-22. It's going to be fun. It's at a Drive-In Movie theatre turned RV Park and we are going to show the Cape Town to Cairo video on the big screen. Maybe we can see a few Meteors too.

We're just visiting Chiliquin this weekend to visit the in laws. Usually we're here in the Mojave desert. Too bad our in law visit didn't coincide with your rally.
