Out of over 25,000 people on this forum only a couple (or possibly fewer) have expressed a dislike of karma. Many many many more have expressed that they would like karma back. Should the rest of us suffer for the very small minority who objected?
Look - the (good) karma system that was here was warm and fuzzy. The thanks system is pretty shallow and trite. Why not just bring back the karma system and be done with it once and for all???

This issue on karma seems to have a life of it's own and will not go away.I am in agreement with Jimandrod's post.I still miss the old system but I guess it cannot be brought back.
Thanks sent to you Jimandrod....
Karma to you Jimandrod sounds and feels so much better doesn't it?

Let me ask a simple question.
How do I leave karma?

At the bottom of every post is a little blue tab that says thanks and has a thumbs up.Just click on that to give thanks(used to be called karma). You can leave a little message also after you click on the tab.

I liked karma too. Maybe we could rename it Air karma to distinguish it from that other karma that seems to be so offensive to a few of the members of the forums.
A bit of Air Karma to anyone who have given karma to me in the past. It was much appreciated.

I think RedSHED might be on to something here. In spite of the fact that most of us want karma to come back it's pretty obvious that it's dead forever.
But... none of us are too thrilled with "thanks" either. It's a little too plain vanilla and without any special feeling attached to it.
Now, if we gave rivets - that could be cool. Giving rivets could have the same warm and fuzzy feelings as karma without any negative connotation or religious implications. It would be unique to the forum and our own little inside way of passing on a warm fuzzy. I mean, now who wouldn't want to get a rivet tossed their way every now and then???

Please folks understand...when we say thank-you, we MEAN it.
If some don't take it at face value, so be it.
Your Welcome.

Bob, I understand your point. You're a pretty sincere guy and I'm sure that you genuinely mean it when you say thanks. Karma wasn't just about saying thanks.
To many (most) of us Karma went beyond just saying thanks. It was a way of sending appreciation as well as good thoughts and good feelings. If someone shared a misfortune (like a tree falling on their airstream) people would sent karma as a way to show some compassion and understanding. Is it appropriate for someone to send thanks to someone who is sharing that they rolled their trailer when a semi passed??? Somehow I just don't think so.

I still miss it. I bet the "thanks" button doesn't get near the use. I used the karma button all the time- the "thanks" button just seems lame.

Here's some karma general, especially for your new venture.
See, thanks would not be the appropriate embodiment of well wishing and energy.

There were other reasons for sending KARMA - your posting made me ROTFL
- I feel sorry for your situation
- wow, you've had a rough day, here's a warm fuzzy
- you've really helped me - thanks
THANKS just doesn't cover it
Paula!

I agree...and & BTW, "I agree" is another Karma worthy reason that seems awkward with "thanks"

About Thanks:
I wish I could thank someone without having the message include a lecture about how they should use the thanks button.
My Karma philosophy:
Others cannot bestow Karma on you. You earn Karma from within by how you live your life. If you post something you consider worthwhile, feel good about it. Don't rely on others to make you feel good.
Regards,
Ken

I prefer THANK YOU......
"He who believes in Karma does not condemn even the most corrupt, for they, too, have their chance to reform themselves at any moment. Though bound to suffer in woeful states, they have hope of attaining eternal Peace. By their own doings they have created their own Hells, and by their own doings they can create their own Heavens, too."
