Firefox E-Mail problem

I just updates my firefox e-mail and now I noticed I am not getting as much e-mail as I was.Only some e-mail is coming thru and some are not. Also I am not recieving e-mail from this website as well.I am trying to find out if I had hit an e-mail from here and maybe touched the button the wrong way as a junk mail or something other or is there a way to fix it.I really dont know much about the system except how to set it up.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thanks.

If using firefox that means you are using webmail and not a local email client like thunderbird or outlook.

Webmail means that all of your mail is on a server somewhere and is handled and stored on that server. All firefox does is to show you what the server has.

This means that there may be a bit of confusion about how you handle your email from your description. If you are using firefox, what website do you go to to handle your email? Have you looked at the spam filtering that this website uses?

If not using firefox but rather some email client, then you might also have some local spam filtering. This usually moves the messages off to a folder so you can check it over before it gets tossed.

To get much more specific than these suggestions, I'd need to understand how you handle your email a bit better.

Are you really using the Mozilla Firefox web browser to access email or are you using the Mozilla Thunderbird email client to access it?

OK, T-bird. Some email seems missing. That means one of several conditions.

1) some of the email is left in the mailbox T-bird checks. you might have webmail access to this mailbox to go check but the odds are pretty poor this is the case.

2) some of the email is being run off the the junk mail folder as spam. Look in Tools->junk mail controls to see what folder that is and check there for any misdirected email.

3) you have some filters shoveling email off to other folders. check those folders.

Sometimes I find it necessary to manually check each folder after an upgrade because they won't show new mail filtered to them until I open them and cause an index to be built. So upgrades mean going through every folder I have set up for email filtering to make sure I didn't miss anything. After I've openend them once, they'll show new messages sent to them unread.

Some good t-bird extensions to consider are Alain Frisch: Nostalgy: change folder and save mails with auto-completion on folders, Image Zoom and Theodore Tegos Xpunge

Good luck, hope you figure it out.

Another thing might be that the folders are no longer sorted by date received, but by subject, etc. and the newest ones aren't at the top or bottom where you expect them to be.

If that's all you're missing, I seem to be missing them also, if it's any comfort. For example, I've gotten no notifications of any posts in this thread... and I am subscribed to it and others with "Instant Notification." I also got a PM tonight I didn't get email notification of.

It started a few days ago.

but IF that's the problem and email on pms....

send a note to one of the moderators or andyr...

they may not see this thread. if the software/server is

acting goofy, they will want to know.

cheers

I have the same problem, started around last Thursday. I haven't had time to check into it though. I'm getting regular email on my accounts, but the forum notifications have dropped off. I'll drop a line to a Mod.

Since I've been a member (2004) and have never received a notification from the AIR site, I selected weekly notification.

I use web based E-mail (Earthlink) and Foxfire.
I have received all my PM's

I have searched my spam box and have not found any notifications there.
