1982 310 Airstream rear air suspension
Hi guys,
I want to replace the complete rear air suspension system of my 1982 Airstream 310 Motorhome. The level sensor is disconnected, the bags are brittle and the pipes don't look solid anymore.
My questions:
Is there any source where I can find
1) a system diagram with complete part description/ list and
2) a dealer where I can buy all the parts?
If a 1982 310 is built on a Chevy P30 chassis, parts should be available. The chassis is otherwise described as a 1-ton Chevy dually and/or step van, which was used in millions of vehicles. If the parts you need haven’t already been recycled, salvage yards may be an option. (Tag axles on the other hand, I believe the 310 does not use one, are much harder to maintain because the parts are specific to Airstream.)
These drawings are a little newer than your system, but are completely compatible with your older system. You must use the air springs/bags listed because of the internal stop built into them. The parts usually required would be, 2 air springs, 2 straddle pins, 4 trans rod bushings.
