Yep, that's what we did on our Safari. Not hard to drill-out/replace rivets holding the eyebrow in place - we used Olympics since the eyebrows are non structural. Be sure to put a dollop of sealant on each rivet stem when putting new ones in tough so they don't leak.

Red you are correct!

Dexter axels, assembled with 12” brakes, 4500# axle load rating, torsion arms down angle 22.5 degrees, “EZ Lube” spindles, (grease wheel bearings without removing wheels). Mounting bolts and lug nuts are included.

Hi Hittenstiehl from Arizona. Unfortunately for you, I stumbled on to your Globe Trotter thread. I'll try not to be too annoying. It is neat for me to see the layout differences and construction differences between your 61 and our 69 21'.

Axles. Your new axles are almost exactly like our new axle sitting on the floor in my shop. 4500lbs series #11 axle with 12" drums, hi profile brackets, ez lube, shock mounts, and the like. We did order the 32 degree start angle for more lift handy here in Colorado for boondocking and the like. We may get 4" more ground clearance.

What is a "receiver flipped" that helped level the trailer?

I've seen yours also! We agree the differences are neat.

It is even interesting to see the differences between Jackson Center Ohio and Santa Fe Springs California. From what we have read they could even make a change mid-year if they ran out of a product or realizef something could be done better. So within a year, make and model there can be some interesting changes.

The receiver thing that goes into the back of the truck can be flipped over sometimes depending on how it's manufactured. So they took the ball off flip the receiver over remounted everything thereby allowing the ball to sit slightly higher therefore allowing the trailer to be a little bit more level.

Thanks Hittenstiehl: I had another senior moment. I read "receiver" to be the coupler on the A frame. I call the "draw bar" in the receiver of the tow vehicle hitch the "ball mount". I need to learn hitch terminology.

I imagine we will have to do significant adjustments to the old Reese dual cam hitch for the Globe Trotter. We have the hitch head quite low on the shank now, but we have bolt holes that will allow us to raise the ball maybe 3", and maybe that is enough. Otherwise, we may have to get a new shank that allows a higher ball height.
