Can Anyone Identify?

Attached is a picture of my grandfather's Airstream (that's him on the right). This photo was taken in 2000, not sure how old the trailer was at that point, could have been relatively new. When the last hurricane went through east Texas it basically destroyed the house and everything on this piece of property, which was our hunting camp. I was under the impression the trailer was destroyed as well. My family sold the property instead of fixing everything.

Well my grandfather passed away this past Friday and at his funeral this weekend we were talking about all the pictures we had everywhere and I got to talking to my uncle about the airstream and how it was a shame it was destroyed in the hurricane and turns out it went untouched throughout the hurricane! He said it was sold with the property mostly because of the amount of work it would have taken to clear the land to get it out.

So I'm planning on making a trip soon to head down there and see if I can track down who owns the land now and see what kind of shape the trailer is in and see if I can convince the guy to sell it. It may not be in good shape since it's been sitting in the woods, but it's my grandfather's and it would be nice to redo it and have a piece of him with me.

Does anyone have any idea what it is? I only slept in it once, I'm pretty sure it was a front bed.
Thanks a bunch.
Ronnie

It looks like my 31' Sovereign except for the red and blue stripe. With no window on the side in the back, I'd say whatever it is it's a 31' rear bath.

25 cents it's an Overlander. It has the narrow window forward of the door and the spacing of the two other windows is the same as my Overlander. The narrow window means it can't be a Sovereign. I think the kitchen and bedroom window are too close to be an Ambassador.

Need bigger photo!

I think your right, the narrow front window leans toward a 27'. My bedroom window is also slightly behind the center of the rear axle.

Looks like a mid '70's Overlander International.

Looks a lot like my '72 Overlander. I would guess a few years newer. Windows match size and spacing.

You can see photos of various trailers in the photo archive at Vintage Airstream Home

My vote is it's a mid 70's Overlander / International trim package.

well not good news. I managed to get a hold of a cousin that still has property there and knows the guy that bought it and he said he definitely thinks the guy would be willing to sell it, but he would ask alot. he said the first thing the guy said when he bought the land and trailer was how good of a deal it was because of the airstream, how he could turn around and sell the trailer for $8,000 anyday. I don't know what it's worth, but I wasn't planning on paying that much. Heck the guy only paid $5,000 for the land AND the trailer.

But he's going to talk to the guy and put him in contact with me. we'll see.

thanks for all the help on identifying it.
