No, primarily based on size. 2x3 would be better - but we already have too many to choose from to add more to the collection - we usually fly 3, 4 or 6 flags depending on the event:
  • Ye ol' Red, White & Blue Stars & Stripes
  • Colorado State
  • Canadian
  • DenCo Unit
  • WBCCI Unit Past President
  • WBCCI Current Officer - His - President & Hers - Corresponding Secy
  • Vintage Airstream Club
  • Vintage Airstream Club - Past President
  • Four Corners Unit
  • Sisters on the Fly
  • Occasional "Fun" flag - flamingo, martini, margarita, etc.

However, if we were at an AirForums event and if it were offered for sale in the 2x3 size...I probably would buy one.

Shari

Agreed......3'X5' is too large for us too. Here in the Kansas wind you have to have a pretty stout pole to hold onto that size flag. I would think there would be much more interest in the smaller 2'X3' size. FWW.......

Over the years we've had requests for various forums related gear, hats, shirts, etc and flags that can be flown while camping. This could be a great way to find other forum members in a sea of silver - sort of an extension of the AIR oval sticker.

The flag is 3' x 5' and made from Woven/500D Spun Polyester and suitable for outdoor use. This polyester is durable and has open weave reminiscent of vintage cotton flags. The open weave reduces fabric stress and is resistant to high winds. The flags would be printed (not sewn) and one sided although the ink bleed through is about 90 percent (highly visible from both sides although the AIR logo would read as RIA if seen from behind).

The colors on the flag are an homage to Airstream blue, Argosy orange and of course a little silver for good taste. We figure you don't need a full on silver flag - after all, it might compete with the trailer it's attached to

There are many ways to design a flag; this one is intended to be instantly recognized as "AIR" and is designed to go with your trailer. It's clean, sleek, slightly retro and with just a little future-forward feel; just like your Airstream. Cost on these flags is to be determined still based on the size of the order. Volume order = lower cost.

Please post up if you would be interested in purchasing one and/or if your purchase would be cost dependent - this is not a commitment to buy, just a metric to help us gauge interest and decide how many to order.
The way I see it, the orange diagonal stripe is visually reminiscent of a "no symbol", per Wikipedia, a prohibition sign.

I think the AIR Flag should simply be an enlarged oval AIR logo (as seen in the prototype above and below with white letters in the blue oval) which could be displayed in the middle of a white or silver background with "AIRFORUMS.COM" in small blue letters in the bottom right.

And I think the size should be 2'X3'.

Fly your flags proudly!

I would for one. The question is the estimated cost, the flag holder required, and if the smaller, 2' x 3' would be available.

Dependent on price, I would be interested in the 3X5 size flag.

An update. These flags will be available in both 3 x 5 and 2 x 3 in the next week or two.

I'll post ordering info as soon as possible as quantities will be limited.

Prices?

Janet, Will the smaller flag be at a lower price? If so I might want one of each! Let me know. Ed

I would be interested. Any size, regardless of nuance of design.

2 X 3 is my likely choice. I'll wait to see what the prices are to know which one I'll order.
