Hot water.

Brand new to trailers and my wife and I just purchased a 2016 25 ' Flying Cloud. We purchased used. We have camped at local KOA to try to work out kinks etc.
A bit embarrassed to ask but how do you get hot water?

The hot water system will have a three switch plate with a LED lenses in the middle position. One side switch will have a bolt of lightening under it for using 120Vac to heat the water and the other side switch will have a flame under it to use propane. The location off this switch is probably in the bathroom as I have forgotten that detail from our 2013 25FB.

Many folks run the water heater on propane because the 120Vac current draw is too much to also run the air conditioner at the same time.

Thank you. I did push the switch but was expecting a light to stay on. So maybe I was doing it correctly.

If I remember correctly, the red light will come on to warn that the gas system did not ignite. Go outside and listen at the cover to the water heater. If the burner is running, you will be able to hear it.

Your owner's manual explains all this and a lot more. You should read it at your earliest convenience, as there are important safety warnings and so forth.

Ditto to switz's comment. In older AS the red light stayed on, but now it is only a trouble light in most models.

Again . . . the owner's manual . . .

Happy Trails!

Same model here - on the gas side the light will flash for a quick moment, easy to miss, as it lights then listen for the furnace. On the electric side you wait about 40 minutes for the full temperature but you will feel warm water in about 10 minutes. If you are on shore power you can run both to get full temperature hot water in about 20 minutes after that turn the gas off.
One thing I found to be a problem especially at night is sometimes the switch gets turned off while looking to turn on the light. This is solved by putting something in front of the water heater switches.
