I'm hoping to get an Airstream mid year. But based on my research, and living in Texas, I would not even consider purchasing a unit with single-air.

Getting both the street side and rear awnings (factory installed is best) will greatly help reduce the cooling load in the summer.

The street side awning shade helps the refrigerator compartment stay cooler as well.

I need to order a WDH soon.
What WDH are you guys with the 26U using?
Equalizer? Blue Ox? Other?
What weight capacity? 10,000/1,000?

We have the 2016 26 U queen and love it. I went with the Equalizer (no holes ton drill in hitch) 12000/1200. Your hitch weight is 900 so if you have any firewood in the bed of the truck you would be close with the 10,000/1000.

Ordering ours this month! Is the 26U considered to be a fast mover sales wise?

Well, I guess we'll be 26U Airstreamers soon. I made a deal with Colonial and put a deposit on a 26U with twin beds and black Ultraleather. I just published an ad for our current trailer and I'm trying to figure out how to shuffle my work schedule around to get to NJ fairly soon to pick it up!

I didn't find one set up like we wanted with a day's drive, and didn't really want to twiddle my thumbs waiting for a new order. Colonial made me a fair deal and I decided to go for it, it's only a little crazier to buy one in NJ than it is to buy one at all!

All Airstream models seem to be moving fast...but yes the 26U seems to be very popular and hard for dealers to keep in stock.

Your going to really like the 26...we sure do ours!

26U twin...very nice! We sure have enjoyed ours. Didn't know you could still get the Black Ultraleather?

Anyway...welcome to the 26U twin family!

Thank you.
Agree than going 12000/1200 may be best for 26U heavy tongue.

Today I learned you can order 16" wheels. Black is no longer available, I'm told to expect 4 months delivery timeframe.

We made a great deal on a new 2016/26U at CanAm in London, got the black ultra leather that we wanted but had to settle with a queen bed and black entry steps. The only option we will add will be a solar/lithium battery system after we put in our first season and determine our energy needs. We will stay at the dealer the first night to make sure any potential issues are ironed out.

Does anyone know if all 2016 / 26U's came with the extending / pivoting television [emoji342] in the front lounge. When we picked up our new unit yesterday we were told this model no longer had that feature....seemed odd because it was their last 2016 and a fairly early production date

I don't know yet whether our '17 will extend, but given the fact that it's back in a recess you wouldn't be able to easily work a pin or latch on the bracket to secure it for travel and/or release it for swiveling unless it's designed for that kind of access, so I can see why they might choose to use a bracket with limited range of motion.

It's just that every description and dealer video of 2016 / 26U's show the [emoji342] TV extending. We really don't watch mutch tv, except when we had a TAB with a rear kitchen and watched lots of olympics and The final tragically Hip concert which both drew in people from other sites

Well that was one of the features highlighted in the vids I've seen. And if they've changed it then there had better be a darned good reason for doing so and disappointing a lot potential owners like me. Guess we'll need some newer 26U owners to chime in.

Ours is an early 26U....You've got to get a hold of that black strap at the bottom of the TV. May have to fish it out. Need to use two hands to get it to release. Two fingers of left hand holding strap straight down and two fingers of right hand forcing downward movement on strap. Needs a sharp tug.

We just picked up a 2017 26U today and the TV extends and turns. That strap behind just needs to be pulled down. It's a bear to get to if you have big hands so when you get it out the first time I'd lay it over the front of the recess so it's easier to get to.
