2016 Flying Cloud 26U
Anybody out there with the new 26U floorplan? I'm upgrading from a 23FB. Getting my unit the week after next as I'm traveling this week thought it's arrived at the dealer. Thought i'd start a thread for new 26U owners thought/findings/etc.

The 26U is our new favorite "large " Airstream, and we would love to hear comments from owners.
The Airstream Inc. website has a floorplan -- here is a link after which you have to select 26U: 2016 Airstream Flying Cloud Floor Plans & Specs | Airstream

I saw one last week at Haydocy Airstream in Columbus, OH. Awesome! We will be waiting till next year, though, when they're to be coming out with a twin bed version of it.

It looks striking; I saw the video on Colonial. But, it does not look as practical as the more traditional 25 or 27.

It isn't. Spent quite a bit of time looking at one inside and out at Alumapaloser this year and was totally unimpressed. Only thing I really liked about it was the large closet. When I was inside and looking around it seemed to be missing something - but I can't tell you what it was.

To me it seems a more social floor plan than the 25 & 27. The U-shaped dinette is so large in the 26U that you can fit several people around it facing each other whereas the 25/27 you have a couple at the dinette and everyone else has to sit in a line down the "couch" and they're not facing anyone so seems less social to me. Also for two in the 26U you can both sit stretched out facing the TV and there's plenty of room to stretch out as you can see in my photo with me sitting there and I'm 6'3" and still have room to spare.

Thanks for the pic. Nice to have some scale. I'm 6'6" 320 and wondered how big the U dinette really is. Also, you mention the 26U coming out in twins next year? Wanted to know what the source of the intel was. You got my attention.
We are buying our first AS, struggling with a good layout, but know we want twins. We have infant daughter and toddler son, and German shepherd. Bed space for kiddos is an issue, and the inevitable tag along later. Would prefer separate sleeping areas for kids.
Still, a 26U with twins is very intriguing.
Thanks for any info.

Source is Haydocy Airstream in Columbus. Was surprised they told me as dealers usually want to try to sell you something asap but told him I really wanted twins and he confessed it was in the works and should be out next year for the 2017 model year. So should see it in showrooms around this time next year just as the new queen 26U is appearing right now in showrooms.

What do you all think a reasonable price for this unit would be? I believe the MSRP is around $87,000

Joe and Ron,
Thanks for the tip. That is a significant savings. Already got a quote from them........so the wheels in my brain are beginning to turn. Oh, this could get expensive.

Same here
I got quote just now on 2015 28' FC twin MSRP on sheet $88k. Quote $70k.
I hope my local dealer in NC can match those prices when time comes. I hate spending money out of state, or out of town for that matter. But $18k is a good sized bucket of pennies and Tampa ain't that far down I-95.

That's about right. Figure about 20% off sticker. Your local dealer can probably match it if they have stock.

I wonder if the 26U will make it to the international, and international serenity models in 2017?

Regarding service, the two year warranty opens a very big door. Jackson Center, Ohio is the trip I plan on taking towards the end of warranty period & get all issues resolved & i'm sure their will be some. The early issues I'll put up with & get fixed locally if necessary. The money saved on the buy makes a few bucks spent on a minor repair or two well worth while.
