I have no idea what "Never judge a book by the cover" is supposed to mean in this context. As for the 3rd sentence, I assume gays and lesbians are still "people" and they are passionate about Airstreams.

OK Gene, Take a look at the four or five posts before mine and you will see the Supreme Court, Racism and the throwing of ones sexuality around mentioned. This is worrisome to me and really does not belong on Airforums.

Could a Rainbow sticker on your TV, TT or Moho cause a problem? You had better believe it can...

I personally could care less what kind of sticker you have on your TV, TT or Moho. The sticker does not denote what kind of person is sitting in the TV, TT or Moho.

A sticker is a sticker wether it b a rainbow, NRA, red neck et. If one wants to put it on their TV or AS, go ahead. It goes with the saying "IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE"
Another thought, why not form a sub group like TAC; the RAINBOW STREAMERS or by some other name?
Let's not get into the game of whose black/ white; married /single; gay/straight. we are streamers and here to camp and have fun.
PUT YOUR STICKERS ON AND GO ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF BEING A STREAMER! U R a grown up and can think for yourself and don't have to ask permission.

hey, I had Cornish Pasties in Falmouth and Penzance, and they were delicious. I don't see the controversy, unless someone is a radical vegetarian or something.

AMEN on that.

Hunter Hampton's Airstream list used to have heated discussions over tow weights, tow vehicles, the Beatrice Foods trailers and other things especially during election time, then they would all meet for a beer and laugh and joke.

It is neurotic to worry so much about a little rabbit chasing. I run a couple of Yahoo groups and rarely (never) correct anyone for going slightly off-topic. As is the nature of these discussions, they always come back to the main topic or...they just die out after a few posts. Nothing to get worried about there!

I think most forums are micro-managed way too much anyway. Adults don't need baby-sitters.

I would probably be more concerned about what the sticker did to the finish of the TT than the impact of what the sticker said. When I first got my '86 Argosy, some cop put a big orange sticker on my plastic escape window when I parked it on the street one night, not realizing the damage the adhesive could do to the window. THAT was worrisome.

Just my humble but most accurate opinion. YMMV.

We have a few stickers on our trailer's rear window. We won't put anything on the aluminum, including WBCCI numbers (they call us "baldies" when we don't have our number on the trailer)...what we have so far are: an Apply logo, the Airforums sticker, the Wally Byam seal and the 4Cunit sticker. I would not mind a rainbow but my partner does not want to become the target of the few idiots who might chose to deface our trailer if they realize we are gay. It's just not worth it to us. We are not wholly defined by our gayness just as we are not wholly defined by the fact that we use Apple products, or are Airstreamers, and we are proud of who we are, but being gay is, unfortunately, still a topic that elicits thoughtless acts of vandalism. We look forward to the day with this is no longer the case.

Now this really bothers me. Apple products. I have been greatly offended by several friends who think Steve Jobs's xxxx doesn't stink. If you wrote "Apple" on a brick, they would buy the brick and swear that there is no better brick on the market. They would probably grow nothing but "Apple" trees in their yard.

OK, OK...I'm just kidding!!! . .

I'm kidding that it bothers me. But the rest is very true. I have friends like that. They wait in line for the latest iPhone or iPod or i-anything. None of them know I am an RVer and none of them have a clue about Airstreams, nor would they know how to react if I attempted to tell them about it.

When I got my red numbers 13+ years ago, I never put them on my '86 Argosy for the same reason, I did not want to some day see the ghosts of old numbers there. I thought I might put them on white cardboard for trips, then I discovered other folks had been doing that already. I'm not as dumb as I look...most of the time! So I probably would not put any type of sticker directly on my trailer. Maybe on a card in the window or something.

Personally, I believe that the kind of sticker on a truck or TT DOES denote what kind of person is sitting in it or in front of it. I also would have a bit of trouble sitting down with someone who proudly displays certain types of political stickers. A rainbow doesn't bother me in the least but I think it would bother some.
If the OP wants a simple yes or no, I would say no. That is only because I am one of those non confrontational types. I choose to get along with as many people as I can, especially in social settings.
We live in a country where people are quick to choose sides. I am not looking for a stage to state mine.

So, does this mean among prohibited items to discuss are the supreme court, racism and "throwing of one[']s sexuality"? Are they politics or what? Trying to enforce vague rules puts a lot of responsibility on the enforcer and the enforcer has to be conscious his or her decisions may not make any sense to others and appear arbitrary.

Of course, any kind of sticker can result in a problem. But it does not "cause" the problem—the perp causes the problem, not the victim. Be careful of victimizing the victim. That is like saying a woman in shorts provokes a sexual attack and it is her fault if she is assaulted.

And a sticker can denote what kind of person is sitting in the vehicle, but one sticker only tells you part of what that person is about.

Spin this however you like Gene. Perp/victim -"woman in shorts". Really!!!

In case you have forgotten this is Airstream Forums - Airstream Owners Community. A forum about Airstreams and the people who enjoy them.

A sticker is just a sticker. Nothing more.

Ha! That's funny! I truly don't know about his xxxx, but do like the computers. Bricks, I'm not so sure. I guess it would depend on if the bricks do what I need them to do better! Nothing more fun than good ol' fashioned Mac vs PC rib-jabbing.
