TCT Tin Can Tourists

I'm suffering from cabin fever and thought I could give others (like me) not camping right now something to look forward to.

Tin Can Tourists has posted the rally calender for 2010. You can find it here. Tin Can Tourists Calendar.

The past rally photos are great to look at too. TCT Photo Gallery - Main Index

For the people saying "what the heck is a Tin Can Tourist". Take a look here. start [DokuWiki]

Hope this helps the winter blues a little.

Thanks for the links, 'leeper.

TCT members, by the way, are invited to Alumapalooza in June (it appears on their calendar). I think it'll be a good chance for the group (TCT) and the breed (AS) to get together and swap tales from the road.

We are members of the TCT. The spring annual gathering and fall campouts are held nearby in Camp Dearborn, Milford Michigan. We have been to a few of both events and have seen many of our Metro Detroit Airstreamers there too.

Yes happy thoughts under this freshly fallen blanket of snow in the cold snap... I'm ready for spring now.

We got our rally feet wet at our first (and only) TCT Rally in Oct of '06. What a great group of people. We were made to feel as if we were with old friends.

We have two official and one adhoc TCT events within an hour of our place each year and they are each unique and tremendous fun. The wide variety of vintage trailers (and people) who attend are great and they are there to camp hearty and have fun.

We really enjoy seeing the SOB's done up and some of the unrestored rigs that are in attendance are just incredible. The two official events have the open house and that is a tremendous way to meet people and get ideas for what to do to the "next" trailer.

Neil.
I share the same experiences. Never have I gone into a group of total strangers and felt more welcome.

I met the TCT at Koreshan state park in Estero ,Fl.,a year ago ,I just went to camp and see their trailers. After meeting a couple of their members,I had joined and was pulling my Overlander over to join them in their camping area.Since then I have been making all their rallys down here in South Fl. It`s a great outfit to camp with. Dave

My husband and I just joined. We are camping at Camp Dearborn later this spring at a TCT event. Glad so many people have had such a positive experience with this group. By the way, I first saw information about the TCT on a TV show called "RV Crazy".

If you get the travel channel be on the lookout for a show call RV Crazy. Part of the show is about TCT. Looks like it's from 2003. It's a fun watch.

Or just watch it here. RV Crazy!: Tin Can Tourists

90th Annual Winter Convention

Did anyone go to the TCT 90th Annual Winter Convention? If you did can you share any news or photos of the convention?

I found a few things online. TCT Campfire Blog Archive 90th Winter Convention Feb. 2010, TCT Campfire Blog Archive 90th Winter Convention Feb. 2010 and thats about it.

<on edit> A friend sent me this link. It's a great slide show of the convention. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tbone2/...30102484/show/

I am surprised there actually was a rally. I was on the sign up sheet with a question, never an answer. Would have loved to join in but no info was available. Maybe next time. There was only 3 signed in RSVP and me Maybe RSVP. I would consider joining.

Mr. Rivet & I were there. I will post a link tomorrow with a few of my pictures. But my pictures may be pretty close to the other flicker shots. We all had a great time at this event. This is a really great group to camp with. For future reference more/current information can be found at the TCT website:
