I'd go with a cool $10 million to walk away and feel comfortable doing so. I will be 45 this year, there are still a lot of unknowns... Plus, well, I kinda like my job... The benefits aren't bad either. My wife and I currently save the bulk of our income, so who knows - it may even happen. But again - there are so many unknowns - maybe I would never be comfortable until a bit older.

Finish up paying back debts, sell my house...I'm done. Hope to have my dream fulfilled in a year maybe two. I'm SO close just need to hold the course.

If I had a Million put away, we could live comfortably for the rest of our lives, I'm pretty sure of that. Unfortunately I don't plan on winning the lottery, so my focus is more on freeing myself of the daily grind and figuring out how to make money while having the flexibility of being on the road. I'm jealous of folks who have pensions. Unfortunately we will never see any such thing, so there is no 'retirement' for us unless we make it happen, and as far as I'm concerned, the sooner the better. After all, none of us know how much time we have to play with!

If we ever get that figured out I'll have to give up my immobile hobbies (classic cars and aquariums), and then we can spend some time traveling. Not sure I'd ever want to give up 'home base' though. We need to get more long trips in and see how we feel about it.
