Double Panoramic Window Owners UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!

As I posted earlier, Eddridge Eason (WBCCI #8889) of our unit has a 34' with double wraparounds. I am told that another member, no longer in the unit, also had a double wraparound 34. They were apparently fairly common in the late 80s.

Axel,
Double wrap windows are rare, but not unique. In this timeframe I think they were a rare option on any airstream with a rear bedroom. I have seen several from the mid-80's to early-90's in the 25', 31', 32', and 34' lengths. I think I have even seen a 29' with dual wraps, but the 27' of this era couldn't get them because they were all rear bath. I have a Airstream Dealer info from 1994 that lists the dual wraps as an option on pretty much any Airstream 25' or langer (forget the price off the top of my head, but think it was about $1500).
More recently, the 16' CCD Bambi has a dual wrap option, as does the 25' Front Bedroom Safari Special Edition.
Also don't forget that Argosies offered an optional double wrap on at least the 30' model in the late 70's. This was before an Airstream Trailer even got it's first front wrap window in 1982.

Dang time limit...lol
The first 4 are of the 1989 Airstream 5th wheel..
The last two are of an Airstream "prototype" dated around 2000?? This is one I believe never made it to the market..
If you wish to use these photos for a publication, email me first..thanks

The last two are the Airstream Integrity 5th wheel. I don't know the years, but they did make it to market. I was at a rally with two of them (with different floor plans) last year.

Well, I stand corrected!
Hello all -
I hereby stand corrected. I am glad to know that there are other double pano units out there. I personally, have yet to see another one however.
Darn, my double life as a one-of-a-kind AS owner, comes to a gentle end. Sigh.
Thats OK. I guess that I will just have to enjoy the ownership experience of sitting and looking out the broad expanse at the poor SOB owners who got nothing like it, IMO. Until I actually see another AS with the same set up, well then I guess I can still believe I have something unique.
I really would LOVE to see another unit with this feature. Especially some of the shorter ones - must be a really neat addition.
Whenever I do see another AS - the lack of pano (front or rear) really sticks out as a feature that is missing - to my eye - since I guess that I have gotten used to seeing it on SilverToy. I pass her in the drive every day and she still makes me smile, each and every time.
Supposed to be out and on the road today - headed for Tombstone AZ. We were to leave a 6:30am but a sudden winter storm - 2 inches of snow and ice, 50+ MPH winds, 15% downgrade on our road with the aforementioned snow and ice - all pointed to a "failure to launch" this am. Good thing we stayed as the power has been off and on all day (VERY high winds) and house systems needed to be reset. SilverToy is loaded, hitched and ready!!!
We are a GO for 3/13.
Nearly 1 year to the day since SilverToy joined the family! Thanks to ASF, all the folks here, and the general welcoming attitude and friendliness. Good to be a member! Waiting for the AIR stickers to tell everyone else about this place.... See you all on the road!
Ciao

53FC,
The Integritys are easier to find on the used market than the big silver 5'vers...I know I have been looking I don't know if it is because they are newer or if they made more of them. I have seen maybe 6 or 7 Integritys but only 1 Silver Airstream 5'ver and it was in very poor shape.

Axel, what you sacrifice for the rear wraps are the cabinets on either side of the rear island queen. I think that most folks probably opted for the additional storage rather than the windows...

Aaron,
From what I've seen of other (87-89) 5th wheel made by Airstream, This one was in the best of conditions~ The owners told me that it's kept inside a huge barn year round..except when it's on the road..
As for the white Intergrity model, all I know is what I was told when I was at the factory in 2000. It was said to be a prototype model and, wasn't going to make it to the market with the Airstream badge.(Now I hear differently.) Funny thing, I've never seen it in any Airstream company materials as a model line offered to a dealership for sale. Wonder why that is????

How about this Argosy Van? It currently belongs to RichardT here on the forums, this is one of his photos.

I think the Integrity 5'er's don't have a standard Airstream Badge if I remember correctly, but they do say something like "Integrity by Airstream". I wonder if they were made in another Thor factory and not even in Jackson Center. I wonder if they are a knock off of some other Thor 5'er, kinda like the Skydeck motorhomes are an outgrowth of another Thor company that makes Skydeck MH's, 5'er's, and trailers ( http://www.skydeckrv.com/).

yes--- I am writing on the ones that were short lived in the market, many Airstreamers have never seen any of these.

Odd TT seen in Richland WA
Thought you might be interested. It was parked outside a nice hotel. The otherside had a regular trailer entry door and fold down steps...

Nice Rig Looks like something I would have built . Yes the wheels are that far back...for a reason. I bet that thing could tow a 40k# trailer on a pintle. Take a look at some of the lineman trucks and you will see the wheels way to the back like that.

Definitely home made - part 1990's GMC Medium Duty Truck - part 1960's or 1970's travel trailer. I would classify this one in the department of "why?". But I hope the owner enjoy's his or her unique creation and the attention it must get.
