One Thing Airstream Got Sooooooo Right!

June in the Pacific Northwest. One of the wettest record. How wet?
This bucket was filled in three days.


It isn't cold, but not so warm that I need the air conditioner. But it would be quite stuffy inside the trailer if I kept the windows closed. I like lots of fresh air, especially when I'm sleeping. So, in the midst of the downpour, I have kept my bedroom windows open as far as they go.

The first night I tried this, I was wondering if I would wake-up to soaking walls and floor. I was very happy to find that not one droplet of water made its way inside. There was not even one raindrop on the window sill!
If it was also windy, I think it would be fair to assume some rain would have made its way inside. But on those windless rainy days, I really like the way I can still get lots of fresh air w/o worrying about mopping up the walls, floor, bedding etc.

Fly, I agree. We have not had as much rain as you but I left a couple of windows open one night and then forgot about them. It rained and all was well the next day.

I love awning windows in my house and trailer! We also have a Boler and it has little louver windows which work just as well, but people who replace them with sliders have a lot of mopping up to do.

P.S. Saskatchewan has been soggy for the past month. We're getting sick of it. Where is our normal dry weather?

We do the same thing. It's nice to know we can leave them open for fresh air.

You are so right!!! We have a lot of rain in Oregon, too, but we do like to sleep with the windows open in the summer...we've never had a drop make it into the AS. We've tried leaving the Fantastic Fan going but the constant opening and closing of the vent makes it impossible to sleep!

Might want to consider shipping this down continent to New Mexico, Colorado...that general area...<smile>

What's left can mosey on over the Smoky Mountains to North Carolina...
