We've got the cool, but could use some of that verdant at this point!

Until the moment of the Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. Should make the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake/tsunami look like a nicer alternative.

A real shame, that.

From whence shall the tsunami arise? The PNW gets the full treatment.

mmmmm What could be better than the upcoming week in sunny Corpus Christi, TX? Camping in the house and watching the Airstream bake in the driveway... Never thought I would miss snow.

I think that we saw the same weather chart on Channel 6 from Paducah, Kentucky this morning . . . . . . .

REDNAX, I don't understand your comment. It's akin to me saying the entire State of Texas was affected by the Gulf Oil spill.....or every one of the many hurricanes that strike your coastal areas decimates your state.

While our coastal areas are vulnerable should a major earthquake happen, the other areas of this vast, beautiful, province are not. Areas like this, which are inland and a mere 15 minutes drive away.

I hope you aren't suffering too much in that 102F Texas heat today.
It is a pleasant 72F here. The Airstream a/c has only been used once this summer. Too bad you weren't here - you could dip your toes into that cool forest stream, or picnic by those lovely falls.
A real shame, that.

BTW, the 1964 tsunami which originated in Alaska after a major earthquake - the majority of damage and loss of life occurred in California and Oregon.

Most of the coastal areas of B.C. are protected by islands. The only area affected was Port Alberni, which is located at the end of an inlet on the westcoast of Vancouver Island. There was a moderate surge in Port Alberni resulting in some property damage but no loss of life.

British Columbia is not the PNW (Pacific Northwest). That is a common mistake made by Texans etc. The Pacific Northwest encompasses Washington - Oregon, not B.C.
