I think if you look on Google Earth my Airstream has sat in the same spot for years (my driveway), appears to be vandalized (in the middle of a frame off), and looks like nobody loves it (but I do).

It could easily be mistaken for abandoned

Great philosophical observation!

Actually, I think trailers are abandoned; people (and ships) are derelict.

Cheers from a fellow derelict,

In your second pic it looks like there's a pretty nice retaining wall out behind you..........

My guess? Either it is:

1. Abandoned stolen or
2. Abandoned "stolen" (This is different in that the owner towed it to the sticks where it was likely not to be found quickly and then he reported it stolen to collect on the insurance.

Either way, it is not yours. Another thing to consider is that you're on someone's property and they might not like it. In Missouri, if you've walked past "no trespassing" signs or if you've been told once to vacate, you are a trespasser with the possibility of prosecution.

I'd get my hat!

Private Property according to Woody

I'm taking the liberty of using this admittedly loose association to put Woody Guthrie's introduction to This Land is Your Land, and my favorite verse, out there. During the past few months it has become once again politically correct.

"I hate a song that makes you think you're not any good. I hate a song that makes you think you are born to lose, bound to lose, no good to nobody, no good for nothin. Because you are either too old or too young, too fat, or too thin, too ugly or too this or too that. Songs that run you down and poke fun at you on account of your bad luck or your hard travelin. I am out to fight those kinds of songs to my very last breath and my last drop of blood. I am out to sing songs that will prove to you this is your world and if it has hit you pretty hard and knocked you down for a dozen loops, no matter how hard it has run you down and rolled over you. No matter what color, what size you are, how you're built. I am out to sing the songs that will make you take pride in yourself."

As I went walking that dusty highway
I saw a sign that said Private Property
But on the other side it didn't say nothin
This Land Made For You And Me

Thanks Woody Thanks Wally

Another thing to consider if you are taking the trailer to civilization (where it can be restored or fixed up) is the road back. You descrived it as near impassible with a 4x4,, I can imagine pulling a long trailer thru it.

I don't know whose it is but I guarantee you, it isn't yours.

Before you mess with someone else's property I suggest you find out who owns it and try to buy it. Start with the owner of the real estate it sits on, and take the serial # or license plate # if any and check with the DMV.

You are asking for a load of buckshot in the ass, or an arrest by the police.

I don't care how "abandoned" you think it is, it still isn't yours and it isn't your call.

Did it ever occur to you the owner went to a lot of work and put it up there in hopes he had finally found a place *holes would leave his stuff alone?

I stumbled on to an Argosy in similar conditions a few years ago. It turned out to be a meth lab.

I've been bike riding past an Airstream for a long time and finally stopped to look at it. It's an Overlander serial number 263T191. Can someone please interpret the serial number for me?

As a previous poster made mention of the retaining wall in the backround, It does look like the start of foundation, piling for some type of structure. Could be the builder placed the trailer there on the site while they were building and something happend they couldn't finish?. Just my 2 cents again. Robert
