Hi, how does that saying go?

People will buy something that they don't need, and can't afford, to impress people who they don't like.

I don't build furniture for a living, but I do woodwork for a living (luthier specifically). Those tables are so simple. All flat stock with only a few cuts that are not 90 degrees. Find a good supplier to send you dimensioned wood (4/4 x 1-1/2" and 1/4" x 1-1/2" slats), hire two or three guys, maybe ten simple plywood jigs, a few cheap chop saws, one or two cheap drill presses, a couple hand drills and orbital sanders and you could crank those out so fast your head would spin. As I said before, if you can get $90 wholesale you are making money hand over fist.

blue ridge chairs

I admit I bought two blue ridge chairs and a low table for a Christmas gift for my wife last year. We camped 50 days and do like them. sturdy, comfortable, lightweight, and attractive.
Not inexpensive, but I felt worth the asking price and would buy again.

Some things are worth buying cheap, some are not. I have a collection of free buckets (not feee if you paid for the contents, but still feel free). There are five gallon paint buckets for heavy stuff. 2 1/2 gallon cat food buckets that last for a few years and are good enough for most anything. Then there are the cheap buckets for washing floors and other stuff. They all have their purposes.

The Airstream store has a variety of prices, some much too high, some reasonable. There are other suppliers on the internet that have most of the same items and much more at better prices. One or two occasions I couldn't find something anywhere but the Airstream store, but that was usually the last place to look.

The table could be made out of a rare tropical wood smuggled put of a remote and dangerous wilderness and held together with gold and diamond hinges and mastodon glue. Any fairly experienced woodworker could crank those babies out for very little money if they use oak or maple, Titebond 3 glue and some ordinary metal hardware. Smithcreek is right. My guess is that just picking up the parts at HD or Lowe's would be less than $20 each and if you are doing production tables, $10 each. The first one would take a couple of hours to figure out, then you could make them pretty fast. Marketing is the problem for most and if you are lucky, you can get the Rolls Royce account for part of the picnic option ($599.99 with platinum dinnerware and napkin with gold thread).

I was glad to have the Airstream and was not glad it came with an inordinate amount of problems. As long as people buy this stuff and the trailers, the company will soak you and sell you substandard workmanship and parts. The good thing is that somehow the general public has not found this out and we got a really good price for ours when we sold it.

I always consider quality as an investment. That’s why I bought two green buckets. One we will use camping. The second will be put away in a safe place. Hopefully one day it will pay for my 11 year olds college.

You never actually own a performance bucket. Your merely taking care of it for the next generation.

FYI similar cost here:

https://www.amazon.com/Huck-Performa...5636972&sr=8-1

Not really worth the time and effort to discuss any further IMO. You get what you pay for, and skip the items you don't want.

Next . . . . . . over and out.

At last! A solution to a problem that has plagued me for years - how to spray off the deck under a bucket without moving the bucket?

If I bought a $130 bucket I'd always be worried someone would steal it. I'd have to lock it up and it would never be handy. I'd rather get a cheap bucket no one wants, then I could leave them out. If it breaks, no big deal, just get another cheap one.

Now, why are they called 5-gallon buckets? I can get only 3 gallons in one of them. Just looking at it, you know you could never get 5 1-gallon milk jugs in there.

I agree. Now does this make the Airstream smell like me or me smell like the Airstream?

Those Airstream sprays must be fakes. They should cost upwards of $150 each.

There has been speculation why those strange and extremely high prices appear on Amazon sometimes. I see the price is in Canadian dollars, but the difference between US and Canada dollars is not three or more times as much. Maybe they are placeholder ads while a vendor is waiting for more products for their inventory and they don't want more orders then, but will gladly sell you something at many times the normal price if you really want it. Sometimes the prices inn these listings are 10 or 20 or more times the usual price. I am not sure what color "American" is, though some think it is only "white".

American color looks to be red (grips and sliders), white (handle), and blue (bucket) 🤩[emoji631]

In that case, the color could be French or even Russian.

Gadzooks! Of course! It's a Russian plot to turn capitalism against us, drain us of our dollars, bypass sanctions and covertly divert funds to Putin's regime! Obviously Russian hackers have infiltrated the American servers, crafted this elaborate scam and sown confusion and discord amongst us. Those sneaky Reds...clever devils, I'll give them that, but you have uncovered their nefarious conspiracy.

This could be even worse. France and Russia were often allies in 19th century Europe and they have the same colors on their flags! This puts a whole new twist on the "bucket list". Is Britain's Lord Buckethead involved too?
