We just winterized ours and had some pangs of regret as we saw this one on I-64 in central Kentucky this afternoon. Didn't have time to see the license plate. Initially we thought it was the same as ours but I see the water heater on the left side. Kind of a tan Ford (F-150?) pickup was the TV

Airstream sightings

Two sightings Saturday. Both were WB on I30 first toed by brown Dodge about 10 miles east of Sulphur Springs, the second about 30 miles further east towed by a grey late model Tundra with a shell. Then on Sunday two westbound on I40 between Jackson TN. and Nashvlle. First towed by white Ford, second by a white Silverado HD I think. We were eastbound in green Tundra with 23 foot Safari

I spotted two yesterday headed south on I75 near Lake Park, FL exit. They both appeared to be 25' Safari/Flying Cloud.

We spent the last three weeks chasing fall foliage, waterfalls, lighthouses and covered bridges in New England. Here’s the Airstream sighting report:

Week one:
Spotted two other A/S at Robert Treman SP near Ithaca, NY. Met Air88 from near Philly in their 2009 Bambi (shout out to Kevin and Sue!) Didn’t get to meet the Airstreamers in the other trailer.

Neat thing about R Treman – you actually drive over a small waterfall to get in and out of the campground. (We think some of the debris below the falls may have been part of a bridge at one time – but not sure.)

Passed another A/S in Vermont after our stop at Ben & Jerry’s. Then met a couple from AZ at Timberland Campground in the White Mts of New Hampshire (missed getting a photo).

Week two: Bar Harbor, ME and Acadia NP
Spotted 3 closing out the season at Seawall CG (only got photos of two – interrupted with a wildlife photo op. – just a couple of white tail deer.)

While watching the sunrise on Cadillac Mt, noticed an interesting moho from Europe. (We’re thinking someone shipped it over for their North American adventure?)

We also spotted one sitting at home ready to roll between Catapillar Hill and Little Deer Isle, ME.

Week three:
SBB stopped by our site at Recompence CG between our trips to LL Bean in Freeport. (Her frame is fixed and they are back on the road in their Bambi). We lost our rear hatch cover near Albany and had to cobble together a patch during our return visit to the Finger Lakes region.

Spotted an International (I know – different thread…) at Leonard Harrison SP (Pennsylvania Grand Canyon).

Spent our last night at Penn Wood, so it’s not fair to count the two dozen A/S’s there. But, it was nice to see friends old and new.

64airstream; I enjoyed all your pictures of Airstreams in action while traveling New England. I especially liked the vintage Airstream shown at the bottom of your post. We just returned from a 3 week trip to Acadia and New England and enjoyed it very much.

Pictures makes this thread fun.

Thanks for the picture and yes sadly it looks to be a future parts piece but sometimes that happens.
Cliff

Kind of a shame. The original clear rock guard on the front window was even intact. Someone took very good care of it for that thing to still be in one piece. Most of those crumbled away decades ago. It was likely stored inside for most of its life. I imagine the interior is likely in pretty good condition too.

Airstream sightings

Saw a nice older A/S motorhome crossing over I-30 exit 123 in Bryant, AR late this AM, I am guessing it might have been headed to the Cracker Barrel for brunch...

Followed a fellow Texan for about 75 miles in Tennessee this morning. White Ford crewcab with a 23-25 International. They headed for Chattanooga at the I40 split and we headed for Nashville

Found this on our back road excursion through south eastern Alabama. Looks like the second story of a two story house. Blasphemy!

34 foot Classic with Texas plates pulled into the KOA in Bowling Green late this afternoon. Turns out he is on his way to JC for some work. We chatted about our relative AS experiences. First time outside of the Piney Woods rallies that we have had an AS pull on to a campground that we got to chat

Normally my attempts to photograph AS's on the road look like this....

There is an AS right behind the red truck. Caught sleeping in an ex weight station turned overnight truck stop.

My luck changed today. I merged onto I-40 at Fort Smith AR about 50 feet behind somebody, and I finally got a decent photo. They had a AF sticker and Florida plates. We had a impromptu caravan for about an hour.
