Saw an early 60's Overlander in Lake Charles, LA yesterday, west bound on I-10. Looked to be in great shape. Door held closed with a bungie :-) .TV was a white 1-ton dualie with a spare set of tires in the back. Somebody has a winner there!!

I spotted a pretty polished and shining 16-18' airstream travel trailer on South I81 around mm 115 around 6pm yesterday. I didn't get a look at the TV because I was to busy looking at the pretty shine on that Airstream!

Talked to a young family this morning at the Wal-Mart in Clinton, MO. They have a 34' and were headed down to Branson.

Made round trip drive from DFW to Bowling Green, Ky this weekend... saw only two AS during the three day trip. It was a moving trip, so there was a uhaul trailer behind the Tundra, not Thumper. But the good news is that if you are in the Bowling Green area, you will be able to now hear our son Emil on WKU Public Radio in Bowling Green.
Our two sightings....... first was headed west bound on 1-40 between Memphis and Little Rock on Saturday morning. Red tow vehicle, might have been a 25-28 foot newer AS. Olga made the spot, so I didn't get to give the headlight salute.
Other sighting
Black tow vehicle, could have been a Nissan ... this one I spotted so gave them the headlight salute and waved like a mad man from 100 yards north.......
The most awesome sight and sound of the weekend was scores of African-American motorcycle riders headed east from Memphis Sunday afternoon... tried to see online where they had been because it was too early for anyone to be coming home from Sturgis and they were headed east. Anyone know?

pardon my AS ignorance, but what is the "headlight salute"...or is that just a reference to flashing high beams at the AS owner?

Knowing this, I frequently flash my lights at speedsters coming toward me when cops AREN'T down the road. They usually wave to thank me. :-)
When I see a speed trap and a dangerously fast driver coming toward me - no flash from me...

We passed a Red Pickup pulling a 25-27ft Airstream eastbound on I90 between Buffalo and Rochester yesterday, We waved and I think they wave back but it's hard to tell at 65mph

Ran a wheel to my powder coat guy in Independence today. Trip home I saw a Freshie Southbound on 435 North of KC being pulled by a long GM SUV. Later on saw what looked like an early 60's Shiner Southbound on 29, North edge of St. Joe. Couldn't make out the TV for the blinding glow of the trailer. She shined like a diamond up a goats butt.

Aug 6, one south bound 101 near Ventura. Then later in the afternoon NB 101 north of Santa Barbara International with a neat top dressing.
Then CA Streamer saw me in the Atascadero chevron this morning and introduced himself. He was towing a boat though so I didn't take a picture!

Thanks Steve. The 7.3 Excursion and the 27FB are a great combo. Especially with 4 kids.
I saw you head to the gasser island after filling with diesel, I like the name of your boat!
Sorry I couldn't hang out and chat but we were on the way back from San Diego for a college orientation/vacation and I negotiated a stop at my best friends house (in Atascadero west on the 41 a few miles) with my 19 year old who wanted to get back to Petaluma to see his girlfriend and we were heading north a bit late hence the brief conversation. Thanks for "saying hey!" in the moment. - Brad

Oregon, Highway 42, westbound from Roseburg, at Camas Mountain.
I saw this airstream on the Oregon Department of Transportation's road camera!
Looked like a white pick-up pulling a 25' or so, with a blue stripe around middle.
6:20 PM, 8/8/13.
I was checking the road cams to see the weather in certain areas of Oregon...
