Here's some snapshots of the event complete with forum member Vic and his wife. Interesting story that Vic's trailer wasn't part of the planned event. He stopped by on his way back from the International Rally in Springfield Mo. and volunteered his unit.

Well they finally posted an 8 minute segment regarding this show on the local PBS web site. A few interesting old Airstream ads and a couple of appearances by yours truly.

Yea, they asked me lots of questions, had no idea of what they were going to use. Love that tow of the Airstream behing the Chevy on the dusty lot. I kept thinking about all the stuff inside my trailer as it skids from side to side. I would have loved to see that shot of the car and trailer going up the hill to see what happend to the trailer. If you notice that car's front suspension was almost fully extended when it hit that hill top. I hope that hitch held.

Wasn't that Jack was doing the Dukes of Hazzard manuvers with the Airstream in tow? No wonder he upgraded to a 3/4 ton.
Nice video Jack!

Glad you did!
This was a locally done production and I think the folks here in STL did a pretty good job on the segment. For those interested in things either STL oriented or about STL, the station site has a great video archive available for viewing. Here is the link to that site. It will list the link to the Airstream production along with a wealth of other topics.

Great video...I was hoping to be able to save it my hard drive, but alas! However, I did notice one mistake....at about the 6:30 mark, the narrarator talks about the caravans and how Wally Byam launched one that went around the globe in 1964.......Didn't he pass away in 1962?

Yea, you can't save it. I have a copy of it though. When it was broadcast locally I saved it on the hard drive on my PVR. I'm going to burn a DVD with it and other Airstream stuff. Those of you coming to the Moraine View rally next June, will get to see it on movie night.
They have started rerunning this year's programs and the episode appeared early last week and again today.
