I just scored (or stupidly bought, depending on your outlook) a 53 Spartanette. It has the chevy 6-hole wheels. I am picking up my 63 Flying Cloud this week and am wondering if the wheels will be the same.
Hi Dave; Most standard automobile rims are not suited for an Airstream, althought they may fit. PO may have installed anything that fitted. Be sure that the rim capacity matches your application requirement. Tires as well have to be ST rated with proper sidewall requirement. Thanks, "Boatdoc"
I picked up some white spoke wheels and c rated tires just to get the flying cloud home, but will definitely be upgrading as part of the restoration. Thanks
Most of your wheels have a weight capacity stamped inside them. Make certain they are the correct ones for your use. Many good and pretty ones out there to choose from just look twice before you buy.

My wheels are rated for 2200 pounds each. and they DID FIT. Yay. Heading from LA to PHx on Friday. Cross your fingers.
Dave
2200 should be enough. Our current Airstream has wheels rated for 2600, and one of our Argosies had 1900 pound rated wheels from the factory (lighter trailer).
