What weight distribution do you use?
I have a 30' international , I was towing with a 1/2 ton, I was set up at the dealer with 1200 lb bars, now I just bought a new 3/4 ton and want to know what bars to go to. thanks.

Ditto, unless you want to spend the $$ for a Hensley or ProPride.

really want to make sure I do not over do the bars with a 3/4 ton truck. I think the 1200 was to much for the 1/2 ton, was wondering what others with 3/4 ton use.

800# was perfect last season with a Silverado 2500, 4WD.

Reese dual cam with 600# bars for a 25' Safari with an 800# tongue weight. Trailer gross weight is 6300#. Tow vehicle is a 2010 Chevy 2500HD crew cab. Followed Andy from Inland's advice on this setup and have been very happy with it.

Andersen WD Hitch
I took a look at the Andersen Hitch website (below). It's pretty interesting technology and very reasonably priced. Anybody used this hitch yet?

I like this also. Will be interested to follow up and hear some actual user comments.

I would take Andys advice. I had 1000 lb bars that came with the AS. I used them to get the AS home and immediately sold them. I have a 1ton F350 long bed and Im not sure what bars I have, either 550 or 600 they are very close in size. My hitch is a REESE Dual cam straightline. We get a very good ride. I really feel 500 to 600lb bars are the correct ones to use with your truck.

It will be interesting to see a user report on this hitch by a user who has experience with other well made wd sway preventing hitches.

Not sure what comparison you are trying to make....
Too many variables..

There are numerous threads about hitches. There are also numerous disagreements.
Here's a link to a recent one about Equalizers with some interesting discussion about whether the bar ratings really matter and how the hitch actually works: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f464...ort-86138.html
We have an Equalizer. The dealer put on heavier bars than needed. It works fine.

Our 71 Tradewind has about 450 lbs of tongue weight; I use Ride Rite air springs to level the ride of our F250 4x4 crew cab (perhaps 1.5" of lift if otherwise empty). This has worked well, and provides a very supple ride over most roads. Heavier trailers would need a weight distributing hitch, but I continue to think that Ride Rites are a good way of dealing with changes in load conditions. With long wheelbase trucks, a lot of force is required to move significant amounts of weight forward.

Here's another good thread:
Suddenly totally baffled by hitches .. clock ticking - Airstream Forums
Inland Andy has extensive experience with this, and a gazillion posts on the importance of keeping your wd proportionate to your tv: the more heavily sprung the tv, the more flexible (low rating) the bars. He responds to personal messages.
Reese Dual Cam, 600# bars, Chevy van 3500 (1 ton,) 25' Safari, and a smooth ride.
