How is this for a Tow hook up

Ok, how about this for a sweet hook up...

notice the 4x4 between the tail gate and the ball hitch to support the weight.

I wonder how the sway control is???

Wonder if you would get a ticket for this, or if it's leagal.

Can you say RED NECK engineering ....

I don't think they're going far, even if they plan to.

Ya know, I keep telling Kay we can buy a 5th wheel and tow it with the Excursion - it'll just require a little modification. Now I know how to do it!

Yeks!

Here is another one. We stopped at a rest stop on rt 90 in the Berkshires on the way home from the JAM.
The hole in the side of the trailer is from just hitting the diesel pump stand. They had to disconnect the Ford Escape from the OVER 20' x 8' wide trailer. No extended mirrors on ford and I can only hope they had removed the weight distribution bars to reconnect trailer while pulling it away from pumps.
Even with Wt. Distribution hitch this is a huge and heavy trailer being towed by a wimpy vehicle.

The guy was directing his wife with the help of Station attendent. He was wearing a Sturgis tee shirt.......trailer full of lead sleds?

Now that's scary! It appears that the tow vehicle even has puny 1.5" receiver. I'll bet that they were out on the Interstate with that death trap. It just goes to show that stupidity breeds very dangerous actions. People this stupid just need to jump off a cliff so that they only kill themselves and not take any innocent bystanders with them.

I believe that if I had seen that, I would have called a Trooper or DOT Officer to shut that guy down.

I posted this in another thread the other day as it is so funny. This thread looks like a good place to repost.

The sad part is that someone will end up seriously hurt,or worse in a wreck, and they'll never know the reason why until some one sues them for gross negligence.

Here is a closer shot of the receiver. I was busy looking for the weight bars and did not notice it was not 2 inch size. It looks like it is doing so serious bending as it is.
I would only hope the Officer writing the accident report would be putting a stop to this exercise. But I do not know what the outcome was.

I at first felt bad for them after seeing the hole in the trailer and the broken off pump....then after checking out the tow vehicle I just figured they were not so smart. That's why I took a few pictures and was not worried about their feelings.

I wonder if their spare tire looked like this?

This is one from where I work. The driver did not notice the air was gone for a "few" miles...

The placard says "Check Monthly Tire pressure". He checked it, it should still be good for a month, right? Right?...

I also noticed in the last photo that it appears that the trailer ball lock on the tongue is not even closed. They are even stupider than I thought.

It's a very common condition called cranial rectumitis.
