Hensley and Enkay Rock Tamers

I'm getting closer to spending the bucks to buy the Hensley. My short trip this past weekend in very gusty winds tells me I need more than what I have, which is your basic Curt WD Hitch with a friction sway bar. We are headed to Taos later this year and expect to encounter windy conditions along the way. Are any of you using the Hensley and Rock Tamers together? I haven't talked to the factory yet but it looks like they would have to make some mods, maybe as simple as lengthening the drawbar by an inch or so and moving the pin back an equal amount. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Greg

Greg,
Our Enkay rock tamers work great with our Hensley. I was worried, but they fit just great. Some members have had to grind some on their Enkays to fit.
We love the Enkay/Hensley combo.

Greg--- We have a 30' Classic and use the Enkay & Hensley. First-- both are excellent choices! Many here feel they are both over kill but from my experience I would have nothing else. As to fitment --as you probably know the Enkay mounts on the shank that goes into the tow vehicle reciever. The problem I had was the thickness of the Enkay mount wouldn't allow the shank to go far enough in and the pin holes in the shank and reciever lacked an 1/8th inch lining up. I cured this problem with a file, no big problem but had I known I would have had Hensley locate the pin hole a 1/2 inch farther forward. It's my understanding they will do this if requested when ordered. Pieman

Check this thread for modifications to the Enkay Rocker Tamer center hub before it can be used with the standard "stinger" provided by Hensley. The longer stinger would not need the modification.
