Caution. My 15 month old Tongue Jack just broke. Fortunately I was at a campground where I did not have to unhook. Went to raise jack and it sounded as if the gears were stripped. The manual crank did same. Called Airstream and they told me that Atwood has a strick 1 yr warranty. Not real happy with Atwood. With many years of RVing, this is the first tongue jack that went bad...however it was the first Atwood I've had. I was able to find a mobile service to put on a new one...very expensive!

That is a shame. Airstream as of 2019 has a "bumper to bumper" warranty and the jack would be covered for 3 years. Of course, this does not apply to 2018's unless you bought it new in 2019 from a dealer when this program was introduced.

I am constantly amazed at the "junk" sold by Atwood/Dometic to obtain low initial cost for the RV industry. When I was into boats, the Atwood stuff made for boats was better quality and long-lasting. Problem is, you cannot find a RV equipment brand that is the quality leader.

One of the gears in the head unit is made of a composite material and is intended to be the weakest link in order to protect the other components. I bought one and carry it JIC. As I recall it seemed unreasonably expensive, but a lot less than a mobile service call.
