Tires for snowbird migration

I am interested in learning about what fellow AS snowbirders do when they leave for the southern climes after the Xmas Holidays, when winter is well established in the freezing north. Do you keep your All-Season (winter certified) tires on your TV, or do you switch to summer tires (generally quieter and longer lasting on hot pavement) and time your departure between two snow storms to head south?

You can run into winter like conditions in the south too. I would leave the snow tires on.
