FWIW, the Kenworth (Cummins ISX15) I drive goes through about 20 gallons of DEF a week.

Conversely my 12 F250 has gone through about 5 gallons in the last 9,500 miles of solo driving.

What I'm saying is DEF is NOT an issue with the slightest amount of planning.

On the ISX15s I've driven, we "fixed" some DEF problems by always topping off the 15-gl tank. Since 100+ gls/Diesel daily is a norm, setting the pump at a truck stop to also dispense DEF is a no brainer.

In the seattle area there are no convienant DEF pumps at the gas stations, but the 1500 i was getting about 8,000 miles to a tak of DEF. i just made it a habit if i went sotuh through Tacoma or west towards Spokane to stop at a truck stop and top off DEF, never went below ½ tank. The bonus, DEF at the pump is way cheaper, usually about $3/ gallon or less. Buying it at the parts store was 2-4 times more expensive and u had to get a funnel.

+1 Thank you. According to what I've read, Mr. Cummins put a lot of work into improving diesel engines. The least we can do is get his name right.
