How did it go installing the solar? We are anxiously researching solar panels. Was this a DIY'r project? Any special knowledge required?

How do you feel about the Renogy Panel mounts?
It looks like most everyone uses the AM solar mounts but they are too expensive IMO. Sure, they are better but at 50% of the cost of a panel, I think its not worth it.

They were very simple, literally plug and play. The directions are straightfoward and online - so you can download them now if you want to see if you can handle it. My only alteration was to use sealer under all of my screws and the hole thru the roof for the wiring.

Decided to take her for a spin today to see if any our work would fall apart on a bumpy road. She held up well, here's a 3D video* of that trip.

This time I used my 360Fly - but I also have a Samsung 360* camera and it works well.

Well folks we just returned from her maiden voyage, 1,324 miles roundtrip from Finger, NC to Oshkosh, WI. Needless to say we found a few things that needed attention, especially after driving the bumpfest called highways in Indiana!
Some things we found out:
1) hidden hinges can only manage the weight of smaller cabinet doors
2) A mattress needs some type of lip to keep it on the platform
3) We never ran out of power with our 200W 3 battery solar setup - we didn't run A/C, but we ran/charged every electronic device and exhaust fans we had and never dropped below 12.4v
4) Make sure the rivets in your belly pans are new - old rivets tend to fail.
5) 1973 Axles & brakes did well. might need new shocks
6) No weight distribution hitch needed for a 31ft Sovereign behind a Chevy Express 3500.

I'm following this thread and appreciate your photos and info so much.
Are your midget stripper poles adjustable to lay flush with the benches? Did your wife use resin to cover that nice map? can you give me a ball park figure for your solar set up and three batteries? Thanks. I'm making a budget for my remodel (ha ha ha).

Congrats!!! I've been wondering about the lip on the bed to keep the mattress on. I was thinking about using a non-skid rug pad...do you think that would be a pointless effort?

I used the Renogy kit from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And three (3) group-24 marine batteries, approx. $85 ea at your local auto parts store.
The poles pull out and our table top sets on a lip to keep it level with the rest of the bed.
My wife used "mod podge" to stick the map down and 4 coats to seal it.

That might work, we used an IKEA bed platform so we would have to cut the non skid rug pad into strips.
