Important papers: toilet paper cover

My toilet paper keeps unrolling all over the floor during travel.
It’s a basic stock ‘64 recessed holder.

How do you keep it from unrolling??

On ships we had a rolled stainless steel serrated “cover” that prevented this.
Anyone know where I can find one?

Mine never does this, have you had your running gear balanced? How's the axle? You know, I've seen plastic covers in pet stores... designed to keep your kitty from amusing herself when you're not there, but it would probably work for T.P. traveling too.

We take an empty plastic water bottle 1-liter size, cut off the ends and split it lengthwise to slip over the TP roll while underway. The 2-liter size works well for paper towels...

we used to do the rubber band too with the sob, doesn't move on the AS. Rubberband over the roll holder insert than over the paper for travel then pulled off to the side without having to remove the insert for use.

Superman's solution

Safari 64:

Remove the toilet paper from the roller, squeeze the sides together until the center cardboard tube looks like this (), then put it back on the roller. Now it should not unravel as you travel.

Of course, if you squeeze too hard, you will wind up with lots of short lengths of TP...
Something I have used, is an oversized paper clip, through several layers.

I use a small french clothes-pin for both my TP and paper towels. If not they unspool themselves and it never looks the same when you re-roll it

Houston we have a problem

I guess that by '68 things got really hi-tech. In 1968 Frank Boorman, Apollo 8 commander, refused to orbit the moon unless they fixed this TP problem. At launch the vibration would make the tp unravel so once they hit weightlessness the unraveled paper floating through the orbiter became quite bothersome. NASA scientists went to work on a new plan to create an in-flight tp containment center, also known as the IFTPCC. Airsteam soon adopted this new technology in all new '68 trailers; they called it the WBTPCCI.

Here is a few pictures of the TP holder in park and launch sequence.

Our Bambi did this all the time. My fix was not as neat as what has been posted.....I just took the roll out and set it on the floor on it's side.

Haven't had the issue with the Safari to have to worry about doing it or any of the other fixes.....
