How to remove plastic wall cover

Hello gang.

Question: I have significant hail damage on the front top of my 1994 Excella 1000. I may be able to lessen the damage if I can approach it from the interior.

How would I go about removing the interior plastic wall covering.
This is the covering over the sofa. The covering also contains the stereo and two overhead cabinets.

It should be held in place with pop rivets, which you would need to drill out. If there is the fuzzy mole-skin stuff on the plastic, it may be covering all the rivet heads. There will also probably be bits of molding, etc. around the edges, that have to be removed in order for the plastic dome to come free.

This is really a huge project--I would recommend you consider seriously how much of the hail damage can be worked out before setting foot to this path. When Aluminum gets dented, the metal stretches, and it is tough to really make it less apparent. You will probably do a lot of work to get a very minor improvement in appearance.

The aluminum used for the segments, is much softer than the side metal.

Hail, unfortunately, stretches that soft metal.

Trying to shrink those dents or pound them out, is almost totally impossible.

The sun will eliminate some very small dents, and that's about it.
