Tongue Jack Replacement - '67

Hello.

My tongue jack on my 67' Globetrotter failed recently. It landed right onto the ball - what luck!

Anyway, I have been to two specialty trailer stores locally and there are similar replacement products, but they are just not quite right. The outer tubing that houses the jack is just a little too wide and I don't think it will fit into the existing hole on the tongue. It's about an 1/8" difference.

Has anyone replaced their tongue jack and if so, where did you get your new part? I have called Inland RV (waiting for return call as they are checking on it) and Out of Doors Mart and my local Airstream dealer and have been unable to locate a replacement part.

Picture of old jack included.

Thank you.

What is the diameter of the jack "hole" that's in the coupler?

On my 67 I enlarged the hole slightly to fit the newer jacks and then put the old crank handle on so it still looks original.

On my 65 Safari I installed an Atwood elect. jack. It is the lightest model and fit perfectly. I believe it is 2" diameter. It was on sale and only cost $180. I put a battery box behind the propane tanks.

I did get a return phone call from Lisa regarding the part. Thank you.

At work today but can check that tomorrow.

Shackman - how did you enlarge the post hole on the tongue?
