Excess Parrbond on A/S Skin

I'm looking for some advice on removing excess Parrbond without damaging the Clearcoat finish.

Cousin Eddie:
I'm now removing some fittings and I hate to tel ya. It's finger nails ever so gently...no chemical should be used.

Question: Is the solar panel in your photo enough to trickle your batteries if you're very economical on power use??

Thanks for the info.

That size panel works fine to keep the batteries at full charge with minimal use, but a larger one is needed for extended stays (4 days or more). I'm in the process of opting for LED bulbs as well.

There are a variety of PLASTIC scraping utensils at HD made specifically for fiberglass tub enclosures and the like. They will remove the bulk of it and then a combination of plastic scrapers and fingernails should do it. I have done it several times with no damage to the clear coat.

Oh, in addition, there is one safe chemical for the clear coat PAINT on newer ASes (NOT plasticote). That is paint prep products, such as Prep-sol. This stuff is designed to clean painted surfaces such as primer or top coat before blending or overcoating. It removes all oils and waxes and will not harm automotive paints. It will soften Parrbond and other sealers, making removal easier.
