Entrance door hardware

I have a 1972 Overlander that has been broken into, and in the process the entrance door latch has been destroyed. Does anyone know where I can get a used, or new one?
Thank you for your time, any help would be appreciated.

A few dealers may have repair parts or a new lock.

Be aware that Airstreams price for a new lock is $600.67, plus shipping.

If your trailer was broken into, get your insurance company involved or at least your homeowners insurance.

We offer same day turn around repairs for the KT lock.

We agree.

The question is how can we have Airstream substancially reduce the price?

I have asked, but to no avail.

It all boils down to economy of scale, or in the case of an A/S lock, hand made, (1) at a time. Alot of Airstreamers are going to a deadbolt that is fastened to the body and the latch is to the door. One fellow on this forum found a stainless steel deadbolt. I am trying to locate same.

Dead bolt...

I am curious about the dead bolt locks. Is this a post production lock that is available? I have seen a couple of these, but just assumed they were factory installed. If they are stainless steel, is there any interaction between where the aluminum and stainless contact each other?

A dead bolt is useless other than to secure the door, so that it will not open, basically in transit.

To use a deadbolt in place of the entrance door lock, would be very difficult.

Additionally, cutting a hole in the door frame, will weaken that frame. The larger the hole, the weaker. If the frame is weak enough, slamming the door, one time, will be enough to knock the door out of alignment.
