I have a 1960 18' no-name Airstream and the exterior door handle is broken. The inside is fine and the door can be closed securely but the key is broken off in the lock so it can't be locked.
Does it look like this? If it does, then you have a Bargman L-77 Door lock, it's very rare and parts are hard to come by. You can get a new key cylinder from Vintage Trailer Supply for about 7 bucks. My blog has more info on how to change this out.

Mello Mike -
Thanks for your quick response. My handle has the locking mechanism at the top of the handle. I took some pictures of it but don't know how to insert them. Can you send me an e-mail to: lindymc@yahoo.com so that I can send you the pictures. It is a Bargman handle.

I should have explained that my Bargman is upside down (it was installed that way because the door). Does yours "look" like mine?

I would think that any good locksmith could remove the broken key, make some new keys and get you on the way.

Looks like you just need a new handle and tumbler for the lock. Maybe easier to find then a complete lock. I found a different unbroken handle for my Bargman L66 on ebay.
