Looking for door handle- help please

Yesterday I posted a request for info about a Keeler door handle for my 85 Excella. I can't find the thread anywhere. Did the thread get moved? Anyway, if anyone has a source for door handles, I will give it another day for response. I was thinking of having one fabricated rather then replacing it with a new unit that requires sheet metal patches. I would very much appreciate anyones insites into my situation. Thanks.

Sorry OML can't help with the door handle but here is link to your "lost" thread.

http://www.airforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=10882

You might ought to give it more than two days. Also you might ask at one of the other forums, such as VAL or Hunters Airstream List. you'll need to register at both but they both have a fair bit of interaction. Airstreamer at the Airstream factory site is another possibility but you gotta enjoy watching grass growing, i.e. it is real slow and lightly used unfortunately.

Best o luck.

LMan Have you used the SEARCH button with "door handle" to check other posts? We thought our door handle was going to need replacment (still might at some near point!) and posted. Several people had insight and we gained quite a bit of knowledge. Know that there have been several posts in the past re: same. Don't know if it will help your situation, but never hurts to try.

Good directions for help

Thanks for your great guidance on using the site. Found others looking for the same help. Hopefully I was able to help them as well. What a wonderful family of twinkee nuts you are. I will continue to rely on your guidance in the days ahead as I reveal the stack of challenges I have to overcome. But as I read some of the threads, what a resource of valuable information and wisdom I see. Glad I found you all. God bless-OML

John

Hello, I make a stainless steel replacement handle for the entry door latch on Airstreams made from 1978 to 1993. The price is $40.00 plus shipping and comes complete with instructions for installation. I can send pics to you or to anyone who has the same problem.

any one else have a suggestion on where to find a door handle ? I don't know anything abought getting parts for my airstream, is there an official parts website with parts diagrams? I don't care if the parts are aftermarket as long as it is good quality and fair a price.

Hi Moto,

Did you send a message to John Burkley? If you click on his name, there are choices for sending an private message or an email. I sent him an email, gave him my email address, and asked him to send me pictures. He sent them to me the next day.

It is a good looking part. Before I order one for myself, I want to contact my brother who has a 1984 Excella to see if he needs one too. I can't remember what his looks like, but mine has a couple of places where it is starting to crack. It still works, but failure is inevitable at some point.

I have been unable to get a message thru using the email address you sent me. If you can check your email address, I will send pics direct.
