Univolt or 12v System Gone Wrong

I got home from my latest adventure and found that my fiance had left interior lights on with out us being hooked up to shore power. The battery was basically dead according to meter on panel but lights were still on. I plugged in but now the univolt in the closet keeps cycling on and off and the panel lights brighten and dim when this occurs. What happened is the battery toast? I have a fully warranty so this is easy to solve or do I have other problems?

The converter is trying to charge a dead battery and most likely going off on overload. The converter can not supply the current necessary to charge a dead battery.

Disconnect the battery and charge it with a battery charge for 24 hours and then test the battery. It should read above 12.7 volts once disconnected from the charger.

Let the batteries charge for a few days and reevaluate. Univolts are horrible chargers but will eventually get them back up maybe with minimal damage. Like a car battery, they will never be the same if they went totally flat but you might be able to nurse some months or years out of them. I assume you mean the battery warranty and not the 73 sov warranty. Hang in there.

12 v systems can behave very bizarre when the battery is drained, kind of like you have gremlins. As said above, shut everything down and plug it in, or use a auto battery charger. Keep in mind batteries do not like to be drained. It reduces their life expectancy.

Hi, as stated above, recharge your batteries for 24 hours or more. But what wasn't mentioned is that you want to charge them at 2 Amps or less. Turn everything off or disconnect your batteries while charging.
