Solution

I went through another round of checking with NAPA, other auto strores, electronic stores, audio stores, auto auto stores and nobody had or could get 40 amp AGC fuses.

The auto parts store across the street from my house got me a Standard BR140 circuit breaker which snaps right into the glass fuse holder clips on the univolt. It does not have a switch and resets automatically. This means that if there is a dead short or the like it will continue to reset which partially defeats the pupose of a fuse.
