Generators
Has anyone ever heard of or used the CPE 2000i generator inverter?
I am new to camping with a trailer, been a tent camper all my life. I just bought my AS last Oct.
I have heard Honda makes a good 2000, but its twice the price as the CPE.
Any suggestions or comments will be helpful. Thanks

The honda is twice the pirice but will likely last 20 times longer.

 Another vote for the Honda 2000i, five Seasons, dual LPG conversion done three years ago, no problems whatsoever...

One of the reasons that I opted for the Honda (apart from the fact that I have always been very pleased with Honda products) is the widespread dealer network and the likely ease of getting repairs or parts should I ever need any.
Before buying the EU200i, I came close to buying a made in China lookalike that seemed to have very similar specs. It was half the price, but my concern about after sales service was what prevented my buying it.
So far, very happy with the generator and it has oproven useful for a couple of chores I never imagined.

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.
Like some of the others here, I was tempted by the low price of some of the "unknown brand" inverter generators. They were about $500 and the Hondas were $880. After much consideration, I decided to go with the Hondas. I went with a pair so that I could run the air conditioning. I have now had the Hondas for almost 3 years, and have been most satisfied with their operation. I have used them many times, and they always perform flawlessly.
One thing I have noticed is that at campgrounds where generators are in use, I almost always see either a Honda or a Yamaha.

I've had good luck buying a very slightly used Honda 2000 and a Honda1000. Check craigslist. That way they a local and you can check them out before buying.

That is a pretty neat set up. Is it hard to do? How much extra is it? It seems like it would be easier & less messy then transporting gas cans.

Generally, you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheap generator and it doesn't work out, you will end up buying a good one, and have paid for both. That's too expensive for me.
I bought a used Honda 1000 from a friend, used it for several years, sold it to another friend and bought a new Honda 2000i. Both have always run well.

Welcome to the forums!
In my opionion, there are two kinds of generators. Honda and everything else. If you use them much, the honda EU2000i is worth saving for. A pair of them is better.

It wasn't all that difficult. If you call for info, report back on how easy it was to get thru to customer service.
The only real mechanical concern was removing the carb to install the venturi nozzle for the LPG.
Mine was out of warranty when I did the conversion, so no concerns there.
There are some models that are already done.
