You double-posted, I don't actually know how to fix it, BUT, you can get a new toilet, they are so nice, ceramic, and you can change the orientation.

This is the photo from the Nomad Airstream project page that inspired me to replace the toilet before I even paid for the RV!

I think the good one's are about $200, but it's SO nice.

Trying to view/edit this forum from my iphone... anyway I'll bite, what makes the $200 toilet so good? After I researched the foot pedal replacement kit, I'm almost convinced to spend the $200, but would like to know.

Thumbs up

Years ago I stopped putting RV antifreeze in the toilet bowl after the flapper seized and started to leak.
Replaced the AF with 1/4 cup olive oil every fall, changed to crisco when we got the Classic....try it let it sit for awhile and work gently.
The flapper valve isn't hard to replace....taking photo's makes the re-assembly much quicker.

So it appears after looking at the Thetford website that I have the Aqua-Magic ceramic. Took off the shroud (yuk!) and saw that the cable from the pedal to the water valve seemed "correct", since I was getting water. But looking at the mechanism, couldn't see how any of this was connected to the blade. Will look at the exploded parts list and contact Thetford to see if they can clue me as to what part I may need as I don't want to replace this ceramic/nice commode.

I had a water leak on my toilet and the hook-up in the back is tricky. It may only disengaged here is a link for the part.

JTR...

Very good CS at Thetford...I bought our replacement from Amazon and it leaked dry in 24hrs, called Thetford and had the replacement valve the next day, no questions asked.

That is not the toilet that comes with the RV so someone already upgraded yours. That is all I did, I was recommending it, but sounds like you have it already. Let us know how you fix the flush, we will all face it some day. If we use the RVs long enough.

I just googled the part number of the blade I got off the Thetford website for my model of toilet. Found the part on ebay and ordered it.

I originally order the gasket kit from Amazon that was supposed to be for my toilet and all but one seal fit correctly. But on closer inspection of the blade mech it was cracked and leaking. So replacing is a lot easier and cheaper in the end. Of course by ordering the gaskets and the blade it wasn't. And had I known I would have just bought another toilet.
