Sticker Inside New Airstream Shower

We pick up our 2016 26U in a couple weeks and I was looking at some pictures of the shower and noticed a sticker on the shower wall. Is that something the dealer removes or me? If I have to do it, what do you recommend so as not to mess up the fiberglass. Thank you in advance.

If it doesn't peel off easily, spraying it with Goo Gone or with WD40 should loosen it without harming the fiberglass gel coat.

Goo Gone smells a lot better than WD 40, although either will work.

I would recommend liquid cigarette lighter fluid (naphtha).

I quit recommending that when I quit smoking (over nine years ago!) and got rid of my Zippo lighters. I don't use lighter fluid anymore, not even on charcoal, so I don't keep any naphtha on hand and never even think of using it.

I haven't smoked in 35 years, but the lighter fluid works so well on glues and grease that I have continued to buy it. Actually I refill plastic lighter fluid bottles with naphtha from Home Depot. It's a lot less expensive this way. It has always worked well for me and has never damaged any surface that I have used it on.

Go to an Ace Hardware and buy something called De-Solv-it. It is great for cleaning the shower and will not hurt the fiberglass. It is a citrus based cleaner that works better than any I have found. It will remove the sticker and/or the residue it leaves behind. Also will clean up the metal.

We keep it in the Airstream for cleaning the shower and other things.

Here is an Amazon link but I buy it at the local Ace.

I never removed the sticker. I left it there. It is instructions on how to clean and what to clean with, along with date of manufacture and warranty info.

Isn't it tired of being wet by now?

I don't smoke, but I do carry a Zippo lighter and have naphtha available. Still I much prefer WD-40 for sticker goo removal. That Goo-Gone stuff is really harsh.

I'm going to presume this is a paper sticker, backed with some kind of gummy glue, as I have not seen this particular one. If so:

Oil is the glue's enemy -- WD-40, Motor Oil, or cooking OIL (olive, corn, canola, PAM, etc.)

Sure, toxic solvents will work, but it's easy to rub the paper off when wet, dry the surface and rub a thumbful of cooking on. Let it set a few minutes and rub the oil and glue off with a rag.

Carry On!

Is the date for the manufacture of the trailer or for the shower stall?

No, the date of manufacture in the shower stall is the date of manufacture of the shower at the plant in Indiana. Aqua-Glas maybe?
